Denstone College is set in more than one hundred acres of Staffordshire countryside, close to the Derbyshire border, in the Midlands. The College is situated close to the Peak District, a stunning area of hills, valleys, gorges, lakes and moorland. The area is beautiful and inspiring, with frequent trips enabling the students to enjoy mountain biking, canoeing, climbing and mountaineering. Trips further afield include destinations such as Wales, North Yorkshire and the Lake District in the UK, and many other trips to Europe and worldwide are available.
Denstone pupils have been very successful in achieving their first choice university and degree course, with many going on to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. Overall our pupils go on to a variety of institutions as we believe it’s important to find a university that’s most suited to them. Our all-round education for all abilities has been noted over the past five years by Yellis, who has rated us in the top 5% nationally of all schools for value-added performance at GCSE. This means pupils have typically achieved significantly higher grades in all subjects compared to their prediction. Only a small percentage of Denstone students elect to study abroad while most apply to UK universities.
